DDak Labs (the “Operator”) respects the privacy of people who use NeverSame (the “App”). This policy explains what stays on your device and what may be processed by external services.
Your photos, project names, notes and saved place text stay on your device and are not sent to analytics or advertising services. The App uses privacy-filtered usage analytics and requests non-personalized ads. If you enable automatic weather, a reduced-precision coordinate is sent to the DDak Labs weather gateway for a current-weather lookup.
1. Information handled by the App
1.1 Data stored on your device
- Photos you take or import, thumbnails, stamped copies and generated videos
- Project names, schedules, display modes, frame and guide settings
- Capture date and time, notes, place text and weather saved with a photo
- App appearance, theme, consent and advertising frequency settings
This information is stored in local files and a local SQLite database. The Operator does not provide an account or cloud photo library and cannot retrieve this local content.
1.2 Camera, photo library and location
The App requests camera access to take photos and photo-library access when you choose to import an image. By default, captured originals remain only in the App’s local storage. If you enable “NeverSame + Photos,” the App also copies new camera originals to a dedicated NeverSame album in the device photo library. On iOS, creating and reusing that album requires Photos access; NeverSame does not use this option to import or scan existing photos. Existing records and imported images are not copied by this option. Selected and captured images are processed on the device. Location access is optional and is used while the App is in use to create place and optional weather information for a new capture. Address conversion uses the operating system’s native geocoder.
If automatic weather is enabled, latitude and longitude are rounded to two decimal places and sent over HTTPS to the DDak Labs weather gateway. The gateway retrieves current weather from MET Norway and uses a short shared cache. It does not intentionally retain coordinates or build a location history. Imported older photos do not use your current location or current weather.
1.3 Analytics and advertising
The App uses Google Analytics for Firebase and Google AdMob. Google may process:
- App launches and privacy-filtered feature interactions
- Ad requests, impressions, clicks and advertising errors
- Device type, operating system, app version, language, approximate region, IP address and service-generated app or device identifiers
- Diagnostics and performance information generated by the SDKs
Analytics events are not allowed to contain photo data or file paths, project names, notes, place text, latitude or longitude. Ad requests are configured as non-personalized. The App does not request App Tracking Transparency permission on iOS and links Firebase Analytics without advertising-ID support on iOS.
Non-personalized banner ads may be displayed at the bottom of the main project screen. Ads are not shown over the camera, photo saving, photo viewer, comparison, or playback experience. The initial release does not use interstitial ads.
1.4 Support email
If you contact support, Google may process the email address, message and attachments you choose to provide through Gmail. Please do not include sensitive photos, exact locations or other unnecessary personal information.

- Understand aggregate feature use and improve reliability
- Provide, measure and protect advertising
- Respond to support requests
The Operator does not sell personal information.

MET Norway weather data is provided under CC BY 4.0. The credit is stored with the relevant photo record and file metadata rather than burned into the image.
4. Retention and deletion
Local content remains until you delete it in the App, clear the App’s data or uninstall the App. Uninstalling may permanently remove content that has not been exported or backed up. Analytics and advertising information is retained under Google’s settings and policies. Support email is normally deleted within one year after the request is resolved unless a longer period is required by law.
5. Your choices
- Decline or later revoke camera, photo-library or location permission in system settings
- Disable place or weather fields for a project
- Review advertising consent choices under Settings → Information & privacy → Advertising privacy
- Delete local photos or projects, clear App data or uninstall the App
- Contact the Operator about access, deletion or other privacy questions
6. Security and international processing
External communications use HTTPS. Google, Cloudflare, Apple and MET Norway may process information outside your country under their respective policies and safeguards. No internet transmission or local-storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
